Practical guide

How to Choose a Law Firm in Pakistan

A practical framework for comparing relevant experience, scope, costs and communication before instructing counsel.

Start with the matter, not a label

Write down the outcome you need, the key events, the other parties and every known deadline. A precise problem statement makes it easier to identify the right practice area and to ask whether a firm regularly handles comparable work.

Verify fit and availability

Ask who would handle the matter, which forum or jurisdiction is involved, what conflicts checks are required and whether the proposed team can meet urgent dates. A large name is not a substitute for the right experience and capacity.

Agree the working terms

Request a written scope covering responsibilities, likely stages, fees, expenses, reporting and assumptions. Clarify what is not included. Keep copies of engagement terms and advice, and ask questions whenever an instruction or cost is unclear.
